finish guy improve reading staying technical trying
I thought we did a lot of things well. But there's always something you can improve on. For us, just little things. Technical things, trying to finish every play, getting on the right guy and staying on him, there's always little things, reading the coverage.
chips defensive front hit job line starts sure touch
Our job is to go out there and make sure the defensive line doesn't touch him, make sure the linebacker don't hit him and let the chips fall. It starts up front and we have to do our job.
wait
We can't wait to get him out there.
compromise control coverage eventually jump passing teams tempo
That's their way to control the tempo of the game, but when you do that you compromise your coverage, You have man-to-man coverage every play, and they can't do that all day. Teams will eventually jump out of it or we are going to be a passing team, because we can do both. We're two-dimensional.
fire gets knows light love motivated motivates people personal
We love it. He's intense. But he is probably one of the most motivated people I've ever known. And because of his personal motivation, it motivates everyone around him to do well. He knows how to light that fire under you and gets you going, that's for sure.
concerned interested super weeks
When he played, I was just two weeks old. I wasn't interested (in the Super Bowl). At two weeks old, I was more concerned with milk.
definitely father ferocious focus ring
He was very ferocious out there. The focus is getting the big ring. My father got an AFC championship ring and I now have an AFC championship, but I definitely want more than that.
good microscope middle people rough spots took weak whatever
Naturally, there was going to be the big microscope on the right side. But we weren't about to make it so people called us the weak links. We were going to do whatever it took to be a good line. We had some rough spots in the middle of the year, but now we're all on the same page.
course forces game gets good guys height higher hit less lower pads push run space squat stance start stay target technique using wears
No. 1, he's that height and if he gets down lower that's less target space to hit on, ... It forces you to stay in that uncomfortable 90-degree squat stance while shuffling, while using your hands. Through the course of the game it wears on you and you start to get higher and higher by the end. At that point, he's able to run under guys or get good enough technique that he can get under their pads and push them backward.
breed great
There's more here than I can even name. We breed great athletes.
account compromise control coverage eight eventually figuring guys jump passing teams tempo
Teams are doing their homework. They're figuring out a way to get eight guys in the box, and doing it in a way we can't account for. That's their way to control the tempo of the game, but when you do that you compromise your coverage, You have man-to-man coverage every play, and they can't do that all day. Teams will eventually jump out of it or we are going to be a passing team, because we can do both. We're two-dimensional.
dictate field goes good itself line offensive point putting solid
This has been an organization that prides itself on putting a good line on the field. They know if you have a solid offensive line, everything goes from that point on. You can dictate what you want to do.
drafted expected high picks team uses
This is a team that uses high picks on linemen. When they drafted us, they expected us to be successful. And right now that's apparent.
anybody approach easier harder matter running
That's how you approach it no matter who is running the ball. It doesn't get any easier or harder if one person is running or the other. If we do our job, anybody can be successful.
