I'm very concerned about people in Mississippi and Louisiana who have watched these storms the past two years hit Florida and Alabama and may have a little lackadaisical attitude toward this thing.
charities churches fixed goes heart help local people primarily responsibility state
And while my heart goes out to people on fixed incomes, it is primarily a state and local responsibility. And in my opinion, it's the responsibility of faith-based organizations, of churches and charities and others, to help those people.

Something that most people may not realize is that more than 50 percent of the deaths in a hurricane occur because of flooding, and right now the entire Eastern Seaboard -- all the way from North Carolina up through New Jersey and New York -- the ground is just saturated.
areas certain cities either folks people work
That's something we need to look at because, ... when you have 100,000 folks that either can't get out, they don't have the transportation, we need to work with the cities to make certain there's a way to get those people out or at least put them in areas that can be safe.

Clearly the evidence is there that we have young people under the age of 21 routinely buying alcohol in our bars. Let's be realistic about it, and that's not good. coach dress former manager order people softball speak start student tennis
As a former (boys) tennis and softball coach at Northwest, I can speak to this. There were times I had to dress our student manager in order to have enough to start softball games. While we want people to have opportunity, where are the numbers?
alabama breath conditions country deep doubt homes living needs people quite recognize reporter room
I think everyone in the country needs to take a big, collective, deep breath and recognize that there are a lot of people in this state, in Mississippi and Alabama who are living under conditions that, quite frankly, I doubt any reporter in this room is living under -- no food, no water, it's hot, it's sticky, their homes have been destroyed, they don't know where they're going to go next.
