That's practically business as usual. Given Michigan's recession and Detroit's past budget difficulties, it's not what I'd hoped for. But there does seem to be some restraint here, and that's a silver lining. Thirty-five million is a tiny increase in regards to the budget.

I'm not surprised. They need to create at least the illusion that they're doing something to stimulate jobs.

It's nice that politicians recognize that taxes are too high, but they're too high for everyone in Michigan, not just those lucky enough to be on the inside of a box drawn by politicians to favor those in a particular geographic area.
