healthy luck family-and-friends
My wish and hope, every year, is that people's life chances - their chances of having a happy, prosperous, healthy life for themselves and their family and friends - should not depend on accident of birth. It shouldn't depend on where you're born. It should depend on who you are and what you do. But it shouldn't depend on the chance and the luck of being born in the U.S. or in a poor village in Sub-Saharan Africa or India or wherever it may be.
time choices saving
We talk about saving time and killing time when actually we can't do either. We have no choice but to spend it at a constant and flowing rate.
gratitude exercise feelings
All of us live at the feeling level, and our feelings are in large part a result of the way we perceive things. You observe or are told something, you interpret it, and only then do you have a reaction at the feeling level. The point is that feeling is preceded by perception, and all of us are capable of controlling our interpretation [the associations and assumptions] of what we see. If we can control our interpretation, then it logically follows that we can exercise some control over our feelings as well.
business done management
The things that get rewarded, get done
adversity finals problem
Adversity is an experience, not a final act.
goal enough-time life-is
The ultimate goal of a more effective and efficient life is to provide you with enough time to enjoy some of it.
writing thinking focus-and-concentration
When you write down your ideas you automatically focus your full attention on them. Few if any of us can write one thought and think another at the same time. Thus a pencil and paper make excellent concentration tools.
loyalty loyal-customers satisfaction
Every company's greatest assets are its customers, because without customers there is no company.
long sound seeing
For a long time, I resisted seeing The Sound of Music, but when I finally did, I cried.
want website backgrounds
I built websites for myself. I didn't want to work for anyone else. I came from a science background, so I approached things fairly analytically.
stars swimming night
The reason we have the stars twinkle at night is because the light is being kind of blurred by the atmosphere around the Earth. That is why the Hubble Space Telescope is so good, because it is above the atmosphere. So it is kind of like looking at the sun from the bottom of a swimming pool, versus looking at the sun above the swimming pool.
brother interesting would-be
My brother and I are huge fans of foreign horror. Some of the most interesting movies are coming from overseas. I guess if there was one change we'd like to see, it would be more original horror films made by the studio system and less of a reliance on remakes.
dog video looks
Look, I really do not care about you. What I care about is the worlds that you bear witness to. You are nothing more than a dog with a video camera strapped on its back. As you walk the streets looking for a place to mate or piss or eat, the camera is on and we will see the world because of you... You carry the camera and we enjoy the world. (On images as autobiography)
achieving ways
There are other ways of achieving the savings, and that's through negotiation.
