When she came out for track we decided we were going to utilize her in as many events as we could, and my throws coach was like, 'Why don't we put her in the shot put?' - not really thinking that she was going to be that good at it, but maybe get some extra points in the district meet. We had no idea she was going to have the third-best throw at the regional meet. She threw it further than any girl I've ever coached at this school.
coach separates until watching
You can have a coach looming over you and watching your every move, but until you take it upon yourself to get better, you're not going to, and that's what separates her from the others.
