On our end, we see a lot of the failures when parents do not come forward and really set out those parameters for their children. Know where they are, know what they're doing. There are just a multitude of disasters awaiting their child if they look away and do not set clear guidelines about alcohol use.

In fairness, she's not the only one. She was just one of the more high profile. Sometimes people think it's OK if they take their keys away, but it's not all about drunk driving. Research shows the brain is not fully developed until age 21 and many things can damage the brain until then. All of those things that you absolutely would not wish on your child come from underage alcohol use.
