Like I always say, defense wins games. Today once we settled down, we made a lot of big plays.
armor definitely districts games high hope kids remember school simple though
In districts it's going to come down to defense, it's as simple as that. We definitely have some chinks in our armor that we have to get fixed, but you have to remember that even though we're 17 games into the season, these are still high school kids and we still have to coach. You just hope they get it soon.
frustrated holes
I'm not really frustrated so much as I am concerned. Overall, we're OK, but there are some holes that we need to fix.

At one point in the season we lost five straight games. I think at that point most people in the section thought we were done. We didn't pack it in. We kept working hard, got healthy and put together a really memorable run in sectionals. We equaled the most wins our program has ever had in sectionals.

We came out with our best offensive output of the year in the first quarter. We had a 12-0 run to open the game. From that point on it was a tight game. You've got to give a lot of credit to the kids from Odessa. They battled right to the end.
emerged giving great guy riding second
What he did great after that first inning was get the first and second guy out before giving up that hit. He's really emerged as the ace, and we're going to keep riding him.
