Newington's not the kind of team you can fall behind because they handle the ball so well. If you have to chase them you're in trouble. I thought there were some great efforts out there... Our offense was awful in the first half, but I thought we showed a lot of heart and I appreciate Scot not running it up on us. He showed a lot of class and gave us a chance to compete in the second half.

So far, I've been very pleased with the pitching because of other than Rivers and Ford, we really didn't know what we were going to get. Defensively, we're really solid and the offense has been productive up to now.

We're just trying to build up some endurance in him. If the game is on the line, he's a good guy to bring in. Hopefully, we will be able to use him as a starter later in the year.
