I was afraid I was going to break furniture and throw the monitor out the window. It's just hard because we had our chances and we didn't capitalize.
The microphone was put in his face at the end of the game, and he desperately wanted that rushing title, and I wanted it for him. But he missed out, so he blurted something out. The very next day we talked, and as far as he and I were concerned, that was over.
He's worked very hard. He's bought in. He hasn't given up when it seemed a little grim at times in the last couple of years.
Coaches are bad patients -- and Ray may be the worst.
If this were to be his last game, then I'm really glad I was here. He has nothing to prove to anybody.
I don't know how good we are yet. That sounds odd, I know. But we're still finding out some things about ourselves. We were fortunate.
It was uncharacteristic of my team to have that many penalties. We had a touchdown called back, a pass to the 1 called back and a punt return called back. That's tough. That's hard to overcome.
They all get about 25 snaps a game and they've been doing a nice job. For big guys inside, I think it's a good way to do it as long as the talent level there is close.
I've had the privilege of holding it (the Lombardi Trophy) before and I hope to touch it again.
I'm not sure that even happened. If I did exclude him, I am very, very sorry.
I cant tell you how long its going to be, ... Cartilage scopes typically can be two weeks, sometimes its longer. So we just have to see how it is.
He is as about as consistent and tough a linemen as I've ever coached. He's very, very steady.
Shaun is going to be fine. He had a concussion in the game. There are grades of concussions, but he should be fine. They are going to run more tests and we have an extra day of rest. If I showed him a picture of a truck, he would say it is a truck.
This is a tough pill to swallow. We accomplished a lot this year. While you don't have a great feeling after a game like this, I want them to remember this feeling, so they can build on it.
