definitely game hit home momentum next score tie worked
When they tie the game like that, you definitely want to come out the next inning and score a run, get the momentum back. I didn't try to hit a home run. It just worked out.
bit caused club fit good hitter houston left middle million next physical switch though tools whether
Bagwell doesn't have much left -- only $15 million US on next year's contract. I don't know whether Houston will use him here or go with Berkman. Everett's a very good hitter even though his physical tools have diminished. He's a switch hitter who is a good fit in the middle of their lineup. And he hasn't caused the club one bit of trouble.
ability average batting dimensions everybody field hits hitter opposite power sneaks uses
I think my power sneaks up on me as well as everybody else, ... I've always been a hitter that uses the whole field and hits for batting average with the dimensions here. My ability to go the opposite way has been a benefit.
braves hard hitting obviously pitching saw throwing throws
He throws hard, but I saw where he's not throwing as hard and hitting more spots. That will make it more fun, I guess. He's pitching for the Braves in the playoffs, so he's obviously got some talent.
believe club forget helps hit incredibly manager people supportive
It was frustrating, but I don't think you forget to hit overnight, ... The people here have been incredibly supportive all year. It helps to have a club and a manager that still believe in you even when you struggle.
ball beat breaking good guy guys hitter houston looks onto pitching plate porch power pull slap solid tries
Berkman is a solid switch-hitting guy, he's the one guy they should be pitching around. Berkman is a different hitter in Houston than on the road. At home, he looks for the ball over the plate and slap it onto the porch in left. On the roach he tries to be a pull hitter. Kornerko is solid power hitter and a real good breaking ball hitter. They are the two guys who can beat you.
defending feeling game great league national shocked
I think we're all a little shocked right now the way that game just ended. It's a great feeling to be up 3-1 on the defending National League champions, but we've still got a long way to go.
asking coming people ticket
People are asking me for tickets, ... And I say, 'Well, my wife's coming to Chicago, and I don't even know if I have a ticket for her.
allowed couple rocket
Rocket got a couple of runs, and it allowed him to be more aggressive,
alex blessing everyday houston player until
Until Alex got there, I think I was going to play every day, ... Hopefully, one day, I can be an everyday player again. ... But being here in Houston has been a blessing for me, there's no doubt.
bad continuing
We've been bad offensively all season. We're just continuing the trend. It's nothing new.
We're confident, but I don't know that we think we're very good,
face good john somebody starter
We won't have to face somebody as good as John Smoltz, who's been through the wars, is the No. 1 starter on anyone's staff, who's done all the things he's done in this game,
run
Run in packs. That's the thing to do.
