ball innings keeping needs paid second settled strike zone
Guzman was up in the strike zone the first two innings way too much and paid for it. He settled down after the second inning and really pitched well, the way he needs to, keeping the ball down consistently.
power shows
I think there's a little more power in there than he shows right now.
club facing kids taste veteran
Our kids got a taste of Albuquerque and what facing a veteran triple-A club is like.
gotten record tough wish
We've gotten through a lot of tough times, and we're going to keep working to make them better. I wish the record was better.
league major quality talent
He has the talent to be a quality shortstop at the Major League level.
cost mistakes
The mistakes we've made defensively have cost us.
ballpark boils cut dime four nickel normally offense runs three tough
We did get the three runs (in the third) and come back, but this is a tough ballpark to nickel and dime and get runs that way. It boils down to offense and four runs here (in Albuquerque) normally isn't going to cut it and it didn't today.
blew bright carried exciting four future game player triple
Everybody's contributed to this point. Felix - he's got a bright future and he showed that he's an exciting player with that bases-loaded triple . . . that blew the game open, but after just four games, you don't want to get too carried away.
learned lessons series tough
It's a tough series to get swept, but we had better have learned some lessons here, because if we don't play any better, it'll be a tough season.
careful case club goes guard happen happened time
Any time your major-league club goes into Colorado, if you're at the triple-A level, you're probably on guard because of what can happen there. That's my guess, I know nothing else, so we wanted to be careful in case something happened and they need him.
balls way saws
I watch every day when we hit and take ground balls and the way we go about our business. If I saw any lackadaisical approach, that would concern me.
media office people
I'm really going to miss all the people in the front office, media relations, marketing, all the great people at the ball park. They were my family for a while, and that part really stings. But life does go on.
winning perfect care
No matter what the situation, winning takes care of a lot of stuff. Things are never perfect, even when you win. But it does make for a lot better environment, for sure.
baseball thinking games
They say baseball is a slow game. It sure doesn't seem that way when you're in the dugout. You think you have it figured out, but things come up quick.
