grown last looks percent shot year
He's grown up. Last year we would have cringed when he shot the basketball. Now his shot looks like a shot. He's 100 percent better than he was last year, but he still has a long way to go.
beat defensive playing points
I'm a defensive coach, and we're not playing defensive-minded. You can't give up 118 points and beat anybody.
figure growing handling looks nice player plays shot starting trying
He's starting to figure it out. It's nice to see. His shot looks like a shot right now, and he's making it. He's handling the ball, making plays and he's trying to defend. It's all a part of growing up and being a better player in this league.
body fit games good nba next practice week
Lang has an NBA body. We'll get a good week of practice in next week with just two games and then we can see where he can fit in.
everybody fact players realize shocked terms versatile
I didn't realize how versatile he really is. Everybody was shocked by the triple-double. I wasn't shocked because I think the fact he can rebound, score, defend, have assists, he does everything a person can do in terms of getting triple-doubles. You can't say that about a lot of players in the league.
beat games great hopefully last sign team
It's great for us to come in here and beat a team like this. These last two games we haven't cracked, and hopefully that's a sign of maturity.
beat commitment defend giving points scoring team trying
It's ridiculous. Our commitment to try and defend is awful. We are not even trying to defend. We're scoring enough points. You're not going to beat a team giving up 125 points in this league.
challenge chance coach fourth games high league meet ourselves playing quarters question team third wants
There's no question every team in the league wants to be like the Pistons. They are playing at an all-time high and they're playing for a purpose. We didn't meet the challenge in the second, third and fourth quarters and that kind of disappointed me. I don't like to coach games like this where we don't give ourselves a chance to win.
basically bit brand coaching coming guys last staff team year
I feel a little bit better because everything isn't brand new. Last year the coaching staff and the team were all coming in here at basically the same time. This year we've got guys who know what we want and how we like to do things.
game hard played playing
They (the Hawks) are playing hard and we've been in every game we've played this year.
agree either risk
I don't agree that it's a risk either way,
game guys necessary plays stepped win
Our young guys stepped up and made plays when the game got tight. We were able to step up and do the things necessary to win the game.
anyone behavior everywhere floor good locker standard teammate tolerate uphold
There's a standard of behavior in the locker room, on the floor and everywhere else that I think you have to uphold as a good teammate that just isn't there. I'm not going to tolerate it. Not from Salim or anyone else on this team.
coach defend defensive forgotten month playing trying
I think we've kind of forgotten who we were, but we were at least trying to defend a month ago. I'm a defensive coach and we are not playing defensive minded.
