guys next
We're getting a look at these guys for next year.
expanding good strike
He had very good stuff. He had an outstanding (split-finger fastball). He's working one expanding (his strike zone) a little bit.
dull felt good pain pull scar strange tissue
He didn't pull anything. It just felt strange to him. It was not a knifelike pain, just a dull ache. He has some scar tissue back there, and it could be he popped some of that, which would be a good thing.
credit good
He didn't have his good stuff. I give him credit because he was out there competing, but he just wasn't sharp.
faced good last rodriguez time
Rodriguez was really good today. The last time we faced him he was just OK.
feet felt good kane pitch preserve trying
I didn't want to get (Wise) in with everything on the line. I wanted him to be able to get his feet back on the ground. I felt good with Kane Davis, ... We're doing everything we can to preserve a one-run lead. We're just trying to get to Turnbow. We were one pitch away.
finds good matter trusting
It's a matter of trusting his stuff, ... If he ever finds it and is consistent, he can be a good pitcher.
eating good habits
It's not easy; it's hard. You've got to get into good eating habits and good conditioning habits early. If you don't, it can get away from you. This is real important for his career.
maximize trying work
I was just trying to maximize our matchups, ... It didn't work out.
hitter shows
That shows the kind of hitter he is.
meat serious
It's nothing serious but it got him right in the meat part of his hand. It's just a little sore.
deceiving looks
Looks are deceiving at times. Sometimes, they're not.
hitters talking third trouble
He didn't have any trouble getting the first two hitters out. We're talking about a third of an inning that killed us.
evaluate fine miss slight strain
He's got a slight strain of the right lat, not his shoulder, not his elbow. We'll evaluate him tomorrow, but we don't even know if he's going to miss a start. We think he's going to be just fine and dandy.
