guys next
We're getting a look at these guys for next year.
hitters talking third trouble
He didn't have any trouble getting the first two hitters out. We're talking about a third of an inning that killed us.
breaking easy feeling geared knowing life second talked
Knowing he would be a little more geared up, he wanted to back off on his breaking ball. It's something we all talked about. The second inning he had easy life on his fastball. You could see he was feeling good. He's right on schedule.
bobby fashion good talk true
In true Bobby fashion, all he wanted to talk about was how good we were doing, ... Finally, I said, 'Bobby, look, I called you to talk about you, OK? I want to congratulate you and tell you how good you're doing.'
feeling talk upset
It didn't take long to feel comfortable with Doug, because he's so approachable. He told me at the start, 'If you have a problem, let's talk.' If I'm upset about something and I talk to Doug, I always end up feeling better about it.
maximize trying work
I was just trying to maximize our matchups, ... It didn't work out.
hitter shows
That shows the kind of hitter he is.
expanding good strike
He had very good stuff. He had an outstanding (split-finger fastball). He's working one expanding (his strike zone) a little bit.
meat serious
It's nothing serious but it got him right in the meat part of his hand. It's just a little sore.
deceiving looks
Looks are deceiving at times. Sometimes, they're not.
evaluate fine miss slight strain
He's got a slight strain of the right lat, not his shoulder, not his elbow. We'll evaluate him tomorrow, but we don't even know if he's going to miss a start. We think he's going to be just fine and dandy.
easily errors number throwing
He's growing, he's learning, he's trying. He's going to make mistakes. His fielding is improving. You look at the number of errors he has made and how many of them have been throwing errors? Those things are easily fixed.
levels reason three year
I think we all were (impressed). There's some reason why he has jumped three levels in a year and a half. You could see why today.
bothered grew himself match others
He grew up in this atmosphere. So the expectations others had for him have never bothered him because they can't match those that he's had for himself for a long time.
