Nevil Shedis a former basketball player. He attended Morris High school in 1962. He was a member of the Texas Western Minersteam that won the 1966 NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Tournament national championship. The team was coached by Don Haskins. The Miners made history for being the first team to start an all-African American lineup in the championship game. His basketball nickname was "The Shadow". I found the oldest, rattiest TWC sweater I could find. And I wore it for five days in Lexington just so they could all see it and remember it. I never took it off.

My wife and I had the chance to vacation in New Orleans where they were shooting the film and I was fortunate to visit the set. When I stepped out onto the court everyone gave me a standing ovation, it was very special.
