He has been one of our most productive players.
I wouldn't say that he has been demoted. The way I'd rather say it is that Sage Rosenfels has earned, through his efforts and consistency and performance through this preseason, the opportunity to compete for the number two position, and he's been put in a position to do that. I don't think anybody has been demoted.
Just the opposite. I think we should do a lot of stuff. I don't think going in the bag is going to help us. Because it doesn't matter what we do we still have to execute and do it with discipline. It's not what we're doing. It's how we're doing what we're doing. Getting conservative about it is not going to help us at all.
His team, as well as himself, had a few bumps in the road. They struggled, offensively, for whatever reasons. I just don't know the specifics of it.
He didn't look like a defensive end doing that.
He gives us a dimension out there that nobody else does in terms of his physical presence and toughness. We're happy to have it.
I’m not going to be the Alabama coach.
The difference nowadays is that when I go on vacation I work some of the time rather than all of the time.
I don't like to lose. I don't expect to lose.
We try to prevent health problems from happening. We space practices out where you have two meals and two opportunities to get hydrated.
We are pleased with the team chemistry we have right now, and we are pleased with what the players are doing. My comment is going to be about that. It is not on any speculation about what is going to happen in the future.
We're modern-day gladiators, and that mental toughness is really important to have (in) a good team. It's got to permeate your team, and there has to be a core group of guys that buy in and believe in that.
We're fortunate to be able to add someone with Mike's knowledge and experience to our staff. (With the Bills), he instilled in his players a sense of belief in his system and those leadership skills will serve him well in his new role.
