attack behind care expect good hard matter people strikes throw
I want strikes. No matter how hard you throw, you are not going to get people out if you are behind hitters. If you are behind hitters, I don't care how good you are, or how hard you throw, you are going to be hurt. I expect him to throw more strikes and attack the strike zone.
balls gets people problem starts throwing walking walks
His problem is when he walks people. When he starts walking people and throwing balls all over the place, he gets in trouble.
couple job next quick supposed talk throw tremendous
Right now he does. All I want to see him do is throw strikes. He was supposed to go in for one inning and it was so quick he had another shot. And he did a tremendous job and right now, he's going to be the talk of the next couple of days.
balls great hit home middle name plate six throw top wants whatever
If he wants to get it done, I'll throw six balls right down the middle of the plate and let him hit six home runs, and let him do whatever he wants to do. He'll get it. I think it would be great for baseball, great for the game, because now we put another name on top of those names.
couple next talk throws tremendous
I like what I see. He throws strikes. He did a tremendous job. Right now he's going to be the talk of the next couple of days.
depends hope innings nine throws
It all depends on how El Duque throws. I hope he throws nine innings of shutout today. If something happens, we have to be prepared.
amazing arm best came confidence doubt job keeping kid last matter mechanics pitches throwing time year
It's an amazing job this kid did over the last year and a half, ... This kid came in with a lot of problems, mechanics and keeping his pitches down. I always say Contreras got the best arm on my staff. There's not a doubt about it. It was a matter of time when he got more confidence and he was throwing more strikes.
baseball counts high hurt last later low might month pitch played throw trying
I don't want to see high pitch counts because they might get hurt later in the season. Last year, they played another month of baseball that they never did before. I'm trying to keep the pitch counts low to keep them fresh. If you throw 130-140, in the end you'll pay. Don't overdue it.
arm attack best confidence game guys kid matter strikes throw time win won
Jose had always had the best arm on my team. It's a matter of time when he can use that. It's a matter of confidence. This kid won a big game for us and he showed the guys when you have confidence and throw strikes and attack the strike zone, you can win a lot of games.
skip throws
El Duque will skip one start. We'll see how he throws before we make a decision.
guy matter throws
If 'Duque' throws well, we'll see how we'll use him, but this guy will be in the mix. It's just a matter of how we use him.
bus thrown
Everyone has to get thrown under the bus every so often.
ball base credit guy kept people score team throw
He throw the ball good. You have to give credit to the guy when he throw the ball well. He kept our team off-balance. We didn't have that many people on base and to score runs, you have to have people on base.
ball credit guy kept team throws
You've got to give credit to a guy when he throws the ball well. (Washburn) kept our whole team off balance.
