certainly fun
We know it hasn't been fun for them. It certainly hasn't been fun for us.
april certainly club consistency defense doubt early effort elements game guy handful hit home nights outfield potential runs seen speed spot throughout valuable year
He's had nights like tonight, and early in the year he hit a handful of home runs in April and May. So there's no doubt the potential is there, because we've seen it. As with all young players, it's going to be about the consistency of his offense. But it was his effort level, and the above-average defense really solidified his spot on the club throughout the year. He's got elements of his game that you can't teach, like speed and outfield range, so that's certainly going to make him a valuable guy for us going forward.

We'd still be having this discussion (on the conference call) sometime this month.

anybody despite frustrated hard incredibly jim terrific year
We were all incredibly frustrated with the way the year has gone, ... If anybody should be blamed, it should be me. I think Jim is a terrific manager. Despite how hard we tried, we couldn't get on the same page.

Unless everything is lined up, we'd be perfectly happy not doing it.

I don't think we know that yet. We're not under any kind of strict time constraint.
ball definitely era exactly fifth given hoped innings lowest rotation taken view
He's been exactly what we hoped for. He's given us over 200 innings and taken the ball every fifth day and has the lowest ERA of any of our starters. We definitely view him as a lynch-pin to our rotation going forward.
preferable
We're probably going to have to play it by ear. That's not necessarily the preferable way to go. But it's not something where we have a choice.
exactly front hard predict recovered road
He recovered well from each of the first two surgeries, but it's hard to predict exactly how long it's going to take -- especially with the upcoming surgery. So I think he still has a long road in front of him.
