ball guys half helped price second stayed stop tried
We couldn't stop Price in the first half. In the second half we stayed with him. They tried to go to their other guys and that helped us because Price wasn't getting the ball as much.
against best desire focused great number people played says season south starting stayed team throughout year
They had a great will to win. They're very competitive people who don't like to lose. They stayed focused throughout the season. Everyone played their best against us. They had a lot of pressure, starting the season as the number-one team in South Jersey. To stay number one throughout the year says a lot about their desire to be the best.
gives guys pumps ready
I think we're always ready to play games. When you have a big crowd, that pumps the guys up. It gives them a little incentive.
coaching job needed noticed order outsiders players realized role truly valuable
I think we noticed it as a coaching staff, and the players realized we needed the role players to do their job in order to be successful. I don't know if outsiders realized how truly valuable they were, but we did.
ball gave great hard joey minutes needed nolan played position situations stepped tough
Joey really stepped up this year. He played a kind of point-forward position for us. He distributed the ball very well and was a great defender. Nolan played very hard for us, gave us a lot of tough minutes. He stepped up in situations where we needed big minutes from him.
court five guys knowing operate takes
We can't operate with just two guys out there. It takes all five guys on the court knowing their roles.
defense easy second slow third
We got off to kind of a slow start. The second and third quarters, we clamped down on defense and were able to get some easy baskets in transition.
beat both games graduation guards handle inside last lost pressure quick quickness rely schedule speed teams three trying
We'll find out where we are. Both teams rely on their quickness and speed more than the inside game. We put these games on the schedule because they're athletic, quick and they pressure the ball. We lost three guards to graduation last year. We're trying to find out if we can handle the pressure. That's how teams are going to try to beat us. We'll see if we can handle it.
bad capitalize easy passes ran trapped
We trapped their guards. We ran a double-team at them. They made some bad passes and had some turnovers. We were able to capitalize and get some easy baskets.
confidence easy gained offensive rebounds
He was able to get some easy baskets for us. He had offensive rebounds for put-back. He gained a lot of confidence for us in that game.
anybody bad develop embarrass habits played stay
We try to tell them to not develop any bad habits in these games. Stay fundamentally sound, and play the way you played to be successful. Try not to embarrass the opponent, and try not to get anybody hurt.
beat good half played second strong
They (Sterling) were a good team. We played a very good team, and we played a strong second half to beat them.
easy outside second taking tough
They started taking tough outside shots. They weren't getting many second shots. We were able to get easy baskets at the other end.
hard scrappy talent terms
They're improved. They're a scrappy team. Not a lot of talent, but they make up for it in terms of how hard they play.
