count couple hard shot shots skins time
You never know what shot will count most in a skins game. We had a hard time getting anything going, but if a couple of shots go in here and there for us, we're right in it.
finished guy hit jack looked putting scoreboard taking water
I was on the 15th tee. I just eagled 13 and birdied 14. Nicklaus birdied 10. I thought 'This is cool, Jack and I are now tied.' As I hit the water on 15, I looked over at the scoreboard and just as one guy was finished putting up the 'S-E-N' (in Jacobsen), the other guy was taking down the 'J-A-C.'
beach choice knee knew open past pebble played surgery tee tradition wrong
I knew something was very wrong as I played in the JELD-WEN Tradition and the Wal-Mart First Tee Open at Pebble Beach these past two weeks. My play was very poor, and my knee was killing me. I knew I had no other choice than to have surgery on my knee immediately.
bad biggest both deal eight great helps hit knows left partner putting require requires rubber shot tough trying whether
It helps a great deal because I know what he can do and he knows what I can do. We both know that if we both hit a bad shot we are not going to feel like we have left our partner stranded. The tough thing about alternate-shot, whether it is here or in the Ryder Cup, is stranding your partner. It is like you are putting them out on a rubber dinghy with one oar. But you know what, we are all trying. As they say, 'life doesn't require you to be the biggest or the best, all it requires of you is to try.' And all eight of us are going to be trying our hardest.
afraid champions game great guys tendency today tour
I'm afraid there is a tendency today that a lot of the guys take the game too seriously. That's why the Champions Tour is so great. We're all out here just having a great time.
golf love media promote
I love doing things like this. I just love it. You know that interacting with sponsors, interacting with media and doing things to promote golf are right up our alley.
arnold competition couple cup familiar format forward franklin great hero hit looking might norman offers partner played playing putt shark shot type understand
I am very much looking forward to it. I am very familiar with this type of format from playing in Ryder Cup competition before. I have played this competition with Arnold before when we played in the Shark Shootout. When Greg Norman had his first couple of Franklin Templeton Shark Shootouts we had a straight, pure, alternate-shot format in one of the rounds, so I understand it and there is strategy. But it also offers opportunities for you to be the hero. At any one time, your partner might not hit a great shot or he could hit a great shot you can make the hero putt or make the hero recovery.
great missing sloppy
Got off to a great start, then started missing fairways. Really sloppy on the back nine.
correct
Does that feel awful? Good, it's correct then.
enjoying fun love
It's as much about us enjoying you as it is you enjoying us. It's fun for us. I love this.
golf clubs littles
Your confidence is the 15th club in your bag. You'd like it to be a thick headed driver. But it sometimes seems like a pretty weak little stick.
leadership sports kids
The only reason these kids keep score in these games is for the parents and coaches satisfaction. Who cares? They're 10 years old.
brother war father
I'm probably less serious about my game than I was in the past. I've lost a brother and father in the past six years. And what about people who have lost friends and comrades in war? Golf is a game. You've got to keep that in perspective.
baseball golf player
The Golf Hall of Fame is full of players with unusual looking swings. Some of the prettiest swings you've ever seen in your life are made on the far end of the public driving range by guys who couldn't break an egg with a baseball bat.
