Anybody who has watched me play knows I'm not one of the fastest guys, but I understand what's going on around me and what to look for. I know what the defense is doing.
You prepare. You study. You've got to be ready for anything.
I'm excited about the opportunity to get out there and show not only what I can do but, more importantly, what this team can do with me in there.
I watch it every year. It's something growing up as a kid you watched, never dreaming you'd actually have a chance at it.ÊJust to be there, to haveÊJason White and LarryÊFitzgerald sitting next to you and think, 'Wow, what great company I'm in' --Êeven if IÊdidn't win --Êthat would be a great accomplishment.
I'm not sitting here all fired up like I've achieved something, ... I'm pleased that I've made some progress, obviously, and shown them such, that they feel that I'm ready to be in that position.
Drew was a heck of a teammate, a heck of a player, a guy I had a lot of fun being around and supporting. I wish him the best on the recovery of the injury, which is the one thing I hated to see happen.
(Rivers) won't ever hurt you by running with the ball. ...
Everybody in this room can be a team guy as much as he wants to, but there comes a point when it's: 'What is best for me, for my career? For my career, it's best that I start playing.
He proved it in college when people thought he was too small. He might not be an inside-the-tackles runner, but we've got the best in the game for that. He can give us a changeup.
I thought he was the best. I really did.
I love it here. But I want to play. I would rather play and be a starter somewhere else if I can't do it here.
I feel like I'm getting better, I really do, ... I do feel a lot more comfortable in there. I don't go out there with doubts; there's no doubts.
It's neat now. We're both on the same team, he's a great guy and we've had a lot of fun together.
I'm sure there will be a different report every day for the next six months, and I'm not going to get caught up in them. I'm a Charger.
