days early guess stamp
I guess it will be real important. Going back to my early days that was a big deal. You put your stamp on a team, on a program.
hopeful potential time
I'm hopeful that with time we'll get that big-play potential that I thought we had at the beginning. I know we have it. We're just not getting it just yet.
caused degree fair hindsight issues percentage played rick trying versus
Hindsight is 20-20, and I was trying to be fair to all concerned, ... Rick had played really well for us. It's not working out. What degree it's caused some of the issues versus man-to-man (coverage) and some of those things, I can't put a percentage on that. It's one of the things that we can do something about.
He's probably going to have to go home,
five handling last learned year
I learned a lot last year about myself, and about even these last five months, of handling this whole scenario.
gets good guys kept nobody note plays sure three
I'm sure he's kept every note he's ever taken, and he was a very good note taker. We usually have two or three guys signaling in plays so nobody gets a bead on what we're doing, but this could be a distraction if we're not careful.
believe guys
But I believe those other guys will come out of the pack.
dust fix magic
If I could sprinkle magic dust on it, heck, I'd fix it.
freaky personnel saw scheme talk
That's one of those freaky things. I don't know how to talk about that. We just take (them) each one at a time. You don't even think about those other than the personnel that's back or the scheme you saw before.
backed cases fabulous good looks player shame tough
It's tough on him. He looks like he's going to be a really good player and he's just a fabulous young man. It's just a shame but it's in the clearinghouse's hands. They say they have a lot of backed up cases and things to do.
best difficult energy enthusiasm factor great level miss players regardless replace special team teams
It's very difficult to replace one of the best players on your team regardless of who you are and regardless of what level you are. He's a great person and he's been a great leader. We'll miss him on defense, his energy and enthusiasm and miss him on special teams where he's been a real factor for us.
ceremony chance concerned everybody exciting fans greats honor program
It's exciting for Peyton and for our program and our fans and administration and everybody concerned to have this chance to honor one of our greats from the past. To be a part of the ceremony is really special.
tough
It's a tough loss, but it's not the end of the season.
certainly change extra good maybe motion offense problems taken takes type week
It was good we had an extra week of practice. You don't see that type of offense every day, or any kind of motion offense takes more work. They've (the defense) certainly taken the challenge. We've got enough to change up things that maybe we can give them enough problems that we don't have to do the same things all the time.
