It's the same old (story). Growth and inflation. That's what's bothering the market.

It will be another commodities day. I think we will have a stronger open here even in the face of higher interest rates.

After the rally that we've had, there's always that retesting of the lows, and that's what we have to do.

It was a bit skewed because a lot of the participants south of the border were away, but it was a pretty broad-based rally.

More impressive to me than all the stories that have been written about how he's been knocking the cover off the ball is how he's emerged as an above-average first baseman. He's worked hard, and now I'm glad to have him out there. He picks me up all the time.

He tends to get himself into trouble and then pull himself out. Once the pressure is on, he's very good under pressure.

He had the best slider I've seen him have in four years. It looked like a fastball before you swung, then it just dropped.

That's the only time on offense when you can really feel like you're a team player. You're making an out and sacrificing your stats for the good of the team. That shows me you're a team player, you don't care about stats, and all you care about is winning.

I would rather have that ball had hit me in the face and stayed in the infield.

Maybe they've just got the itch when it comes to Tigers pitching. I can't figure it out. I'm waiting for them to go into a slump against us, for crying out loud.
against boston good matter realize taking three took
It's all a matter of confidence. I think it took us taking two out of three against Boston (last week) for us to realize we could be a really good team.
