ability above average good period possesses
Like any young player, there was a period of inconsistency. He can be average and then he can be Clarke MacArthur. Average isn't good enough, but he possesses the ability to be above average.
key morning obvious players talked took word
That's the key word right there, desperation. It was used this morning and it was used tonight. It was obvious it was talked about by the players and they took it to heart.
key might save seen though
He (Leighton) made a (one-) glove save through a lot of traffic. Even though he might not have seen the shot, the key was positioning himself.
allowing aware control crafty guy lane pull pulled room short top
Just when you think you have it under control and that they won't pull that off again, they pulled it off. It's a very crafty team. It comes down to being aware in the lane and being on top of people, not so much on the long end but the short end, and not allowing that pass. available body compete drove entry finding guy himself last needs offensive puck putting remember step
I can't remember the last entry (into the offensive zone) where he had a step on a guy and drove to the net. There's been too much one-on-one. For him it's more about finding the help, putting the puck there, and getting it back. He needs to compete for the puck, take the body when he has to, then make himself available to get the puck back.
figure
He's in a funk, and he's got to figure out a way to get out of it.

He has hit everything in sight in camp, he's got a great shot and he skates strong.
brought certainly difficult forth physical wish
We had a lot of jam, some physical play we wish we'd brought forth on other nights. It certainly made it difficult for them.
