I am not hearing a clamoring for an income tax reduction. Instead, I am hearing about the need to increase school funding, to close the achievement gap, to reduce classroom size. It is not the time to be considering a large cut to the education fund.

I was hopeful that we would be coming forward with a major package. But I have yet to even see one of the biggest proposals we discussed.

We do find a fair number of youth in the homeless population that because of their circumstances are either no longer welcome or may have fled from their homes that are in need of services, but they cannot access them. They may have stayed in school, they may have jobs and be managing fairly well on their own ... but their legal status is fuzzy.
