Riaz Ahmed was the main captain of the India men's national volleyball team from 1970 to 1979, and a member from 1969. He is known for leading his team to 4th place in the 1966 Asian Games. He was also a Sub-Inspector for the Andhra Pradesh Police and he also played Volleyball for the Department for 10 years until 1969 when he joined the national team.
