anybody beginning best four game last losing nice played season three victory won
We played our best game of the year. Cahokia had won three of its last four only losing to Carbondale. This was a nice victory for us. I don't think anybody thought at the beginning of the season we would get 10 wins.
best game played
We played our best game of the year.
ball bit good liked played playing relaxed sure win
We started so good and then we relaxed a little bit and they played very aggressive. They're a good ball club. We'd have sure liked to win two and we didn't get it done, but at least we're playing and having some fun.
allowed basketball good passes played tremendous
We made some good passes that allowed Childers to finish. He really played a tremendous basketball game.
five game good last notch played six turned
He's a very good passer and played hard. And he turned his game up a notch the last five or six games.
along confidence defense gained game good job played triangle
Our defense did a good job and we gained confidence as the game went along because of our defense. We played a triangle and two and our defense really stymied them.
basketball biggest certain guys hard mileage played talent
The biggest thing is that we competed and got a lot of mileage out of our talent. No way I'm bad-mouthing our talent, but I tell you what, our guys played very, very hard in certain basketball games.
harder kids left luckier played time win
Any time we win it's because we've played hard. I told the kids two things: One, you'll have a lot more left at the end when you've played hard, and, two, the harder you play the luckier you get.
allen brown came guys harder intensity level played second
We played a lot harder in the second half. We got some guys in there that wanted to play. Allen wanted to play, Brown came in and played. Our intensity level was much better than it was.
basketball game high last ready realize school seniors
We'll be ready to play. We have seniors who realize this will be their last high school basketball game if we don't win. They're going to play hard.
asks basketball believer bit coach great lead minutes ready relaxed
We had a big lead and thought we had it made, but we relaxed a little bit and they battled back. I'm a great believer you have to be ready to play 32 minutes of basketball if that's what your coach asks of you. I don't think we got that tonight.
cover face hand three
We didn't cover the three and all we had to do was put a hand in their face and make them put it on the floor.
believer difference enjoyable great group intensity kids losing picked practice winning
I'm a great believer in the difference between winning and losing is intensity. Our intensity has picked up lately. This is a great group of kids who make it enjoyable to come to practice every day. We are getting better all the time.
ballgame believe best confidence couple court gain gaining glad mike players run
I believe this is the best ballgame that Mike Simmons has played. I was glad to see him run the court and get a couple baskets. He is gaining confidence and when you gain confidence, other players gain confidence in him.
