You can't always rely on external forces. You have to believe in yourself and that inner confidence has a way of affecting other people. Each single person has to realize that they are responsible for how good or how bad we will be. The work they put into themselves will determine our successes and failures.

I want to spend more time practicing in the preseason rather than focusing on one or two opponents. The schedule is more compact. We're going to have to play a lot more midweek games in order to squeeze in 20 matches.

Some of the kids weren't having fun with all the work, and they didn't enjoy being pushed that hard so soon. So we talked and listened and tweaked some parts of the schedule, like lifting two days a week instead of three, and we incorporated some games into our running drills.
