A time gap of 50 seconds for your one through seven runners is unheard of. It's a tribute to how well they work as a team. Although it's an individual sport, they really buy into the team aspect.

It's a fantastic start to the season. The girls definitely won on the strength of their team effort. They had several strong finishes, but nobody in the top 10.

We had a challenging day, just to get down there. There was a blizzard on the passes, and there were trucks stalled all along the road. We were very close to missing the 3,200 (meters).

We are always happy when we win, but it wasn't a 100 percent portrayal of how we will fare against 4A schools.
