close fact good slip team won
It's good to have a win, but this is a team we should have beaten. That's the thing that's encouraging not the fact we won this game, but that we didn't slip and make it a close game.
came game plays
They made plays and we didn't. That's what it came down to. On game day, it's who makes the most plays.
close
You've got to give it everything you've got because it's do-or-die. You don't want to be that close and not get it done; I do know that.
calm glad good played son team worried worrying
It was more my son that I had to calm down. He was devastated. But it was just one of those things. Like I told my son, I'm just glad I've played so long that the team I played for was worried about my age. You have to keep it in perspective. If the team is worrying about my age, then I've had a good career.
eliminate
It was kind of unsaid, but we wanted to eliminate the buts.
easily shots
I never take shots at his head, or his looks, or the way he dressed, or anything. And those are things that I could easily do.
expected expecting might
I had expected that they might take a center. But the first round? I wasn't expecting that.
hit panic
I'm not going to hit the panic button.
chance easy good hell people win
This isn't easy for any of us. We thought we had a good chance to win this game. Hell with the people who didn't think we did. We made too many mistakes, that's all.
company happy high team winning
A lot of it comes from the team winning and things like that. But he's in some pretty high company now and I'm happy for him. I'm happy to be part of it.
difference fine gives question takes whether winning
It's a fine line, the difference between winning and losing, and you have to win these games. It gives you confidence. It gives you momentum. A win like this takes the question away of whether we can do it. We've done it now.
addressing somebody talking yelled
We all had a laugh. It was unbelievable - he was addressing the crowd, and somebody yelled out, 'Nice shirt!' Here you are, your hometown, your crowd, your guys, and your quarterback is talking and all somebody yells out is, 'Nice shirt!'.
against beat football good laid line played team
We had opportunities. And against a good football team, you have to make every one of them count. We just couldn't finish. We could have played better, but we laid it on the line and got beat by a team that played better than we did today.
whatever worry
We don't worry about that stuff. Whatever is said about us nationally is fine.
