We decided to let the songs determine where the record was going to go. I had written only a couple of songs before, but we decided just to go with our gut and try different approaches to everything.

We stopped being able to talk to each other. And we found ourselves onstage all playing a different song at the same time. It was pretty pathetic and felt like it was just symbolic of where we were at. We ended up getting into this terrible violent fight and our tour manager had to put us in different corners just to break it up.

We decided not to tell anyone that we weren't a band anymore, but that was really difficult. It was just a very intense time.
