best life stage tour
Pajares was the stage of my life, the best one I've ever done in any Tour of Spain.
blow left liberty morale race stages strong
There are many stages left on the race, but he made a strong impact, a morale blow to the rest. So far, Liberty and Heras have demonstrated superiority.
almost confident future happened last mentality specialist stage strength thinking week
The stage characteristics werent for a climber, but its the last week of the Vuelta and strength is very important. A specialist like Plaza won, but I had the mentality to win. I almost won, it was so close. But Im confident thinking of the future because of what happened today.
advantage allow although beating bit continues difficult discipline gave good less major obstacles paid plus point recover rivals stage stages team themselves time today worked
Today's stage was probably less difficult than that of yesterday. We let a breakaway go and the team has worked very well, and with a lot of discipline behind. No day is easy, but today our rivals probably paid a bit for the beating that they gave to themselves yesterday, because at this point of the race, it is difficult to recover a bit more. These two stages were the major obstacles that we still had, although there are still two more stages left, plus the time trial. Roberto continues to look very good to me, and he comes to the chrono with an advantage that will allow him to do it with more tranquility.
climb follow hard key stage
There's still the stage to Lagos and that will be the key stage, because it's a hard climb and there you can't just follow the wheel.
either gap looking open stage time win
I wasn't looking for either the stage win or the lead, more to open up a time gap on the other favorites.
attacks controlled deserves felt quick stage work
Once more, the team's work deserves a 10 out of 10, ... My team-mates have been sensational and I felt good. The stage was very quick with a lot of attacks but we controlled them without any problem.
demanding hard stage
It's an important stage with a very demanding and hard route.
conscious difficult fact great knew mountain point risks stage strategic terms took
The Colladiella is a very difficult mountain and we knew it, ... In strategic terms the stage went perfectly. I was conscious about the fact that I took great risks when I went downhill. But the point is that if you want something, you have to take your chances.
mind race tour win
I would like to win a three-week race other than the Vuelta. The Tour is always in my mind but, I insist, that is up to my race director.
convinced mistake surprised taken
I was very surprised ... I am convinced it is a mistake because I have never taken anything.
celebrate hard knew week
We knew it would be hard today, more so with the rain, ... There's still another week to go, so we can't celebrate yet.
attacked beginning climb felt glued hardest
I felt good, especially when I attacked about 5km to go, but I couldn't keep going because this climb isn't that hard. The hardest part was at the beginning and Menchov was glued to my wheel.
ease falls figure mentally prepare spain strength stronger train
I can't figure it out, ... I train for it just as seriously, but I just don't have the same strength. I prepare the same way when the Vuelta approaches, and everything falls together. In Spain I'm at ease and mentally I'm stronger than in other races.
