I don't know. It's tough. I would think we'd want Atlanta to win so we can get close to the eighth spot.
In both games, we had clutch goals in the third period. We were able to hang on and play well defensively. That makes my job a lot easier.
Everybody's aware of where we're at and how many points behind. We know we can't falter anymore at this point of the year.
It's one of my weak points, coming into a game when I didn't plan on it. But I don't think I did too badly.
It started out a little innocently, a couple bad bounces here or there and then guys started losing their confidence, including myself and it just escalated to bigger and bigger things. And then we got to the end of the games and guys were nervous. When you're in those kinds of situations and you don't have the confidence to do the job, most of the time it's not going to turn out your way.
It was one of those games. Sometimes you get into a rhythm and you play pretty good.
The guys played a great game for 65 minutes. It's nice to get rewarded with two points at the end of the day.
The game was a good workout. The last half of the first period, they were on the power play the whole 10 minutes. It was tough, but you have to battle through it.
If you let their best players take one-timers from the slot, they're going to go in. Five-on-three is a tough situation for everybody.
It's huge. Guys are aware that this is probably the most important stretch for our team this year. ... We definitely wanted to get off to a good start tonight and have a good week.
It was a big pressure situation, the most I've ever been under in my career, and the tournament was in Canada so the fans and the media were intense. It wasn't an easy situation but it's the end result that counts.
It was nice to get good support. You know, 7-0 in the second period. I had to check the clock to make sure it was right.
Doing a good impression of a backup goalie the last few weeks.
I don't fear stopping a 100 mph slap shot. I fear not stopping it!
