I don't think I'm ever going to be too far behind. Right now, my arm is a little bit ahead of the curve. I want to make sure my legs are where they need to be.
My arm feels good but it's taking longer to get my legs in shape than I thought. I'm going to wait until after the (Classic) games to make that decision.
My legs felt fine, ... I still need to get a little more strength in my lower half, but I think Jim Hickey, our pitching coach, and the skipper were happy with the way I was getting out over my front leg. So it makes a big difference; without the burning sensation in my leg, it was a lot nicer. My control was still off, and I think that was what was aggravating me a little early.
I was trying to stay extremely tall and violent on the mound so my stuff was moving well. Leg feels fine, just emptying the tank.
Maybe, I'm the Grim Reaper, ... I miss a start and we scored 10 runs.
He was a good pitcher then, and obviously he's more experienced now. He's doing a real fine job.
It was just another typical game. We play some nail-biters. But you know that going in.
I don't know that we've ever even worried about that.
I'm going to kick back and watch some baseball. I'm not ready to commit. Even being at home and pitching in Houston was a tough grind. ... Right now, I'm not interested in getting in there and locking in on this. If it works out and I can just fade away, that's what's going to happen.
I'm sure they could hide me in the outfield. Why not?
As soon as I climbed on the mound, I was lost a little bit, ... I knew I had to gather it up pretty quick and get through that.
I'll do whatever we need to do. We need to make it happen.
I had the problem in the second inning and fought my way through that inning,
I just go to the ballpark and watch as the media buzz around me. Especially if the Red Sox are playing. I hang out on the field before the game. I visit the clubhouses. The rumors start flying like base hits off one of those South African pitchers we faced in the World Baseball Classic. Good times.
