It has been struggling either side of 6,000 for a few days now but it's been a fantastic first quarter. We've had a good run, buoyed up with a combination of takeover hopes and strong commodity prices.

It's incredible momentum. The market just seems to have taken up from where it left off in 2005 with a lot of cash washing around from all the bids going on and a lot of bid speculation still about.
