basketball college comfort excuse excuses freshmen gives level next playing
We can make all the excuses we want but part of it is we don't have many sophomores out there and we've got a lot of freshmen out there playing college basketball for the first time. Sometimes going through something like this gives you a comfort level the next time.
five game leader obviously player thrilled unselfish
We're obviously thrilled for Michelle. She's become a leader of the team. She's a very unselfish player who has about five assists each game too.
believe certainly convinced realized running staying woman
I don't know what she was running away from, but he convinced her that she was better off staying with him. He certainly coerced this young woman into staying with him, which is exploitation. But I don't believe the young woman realized that she was being exploited.
good guys leagues outcome success veteran worry
He has good stuff. I don't worry about the outcome (of a game) right now; it's all about the way these guys feel. He's a veteran guy. This guy has had success in the big leagues before.
besides both game glad happy home last seen seven turn win
This was an important game for both of us and I'm glad we were able to get the win and when you're at home you just about have to that in conference. Besides the last seven minutes, I was really happy with everything. We did turn over (the ball) like we had never seen the press.
defense exception game half hurt lapse loss march mistakes offense opportunity ourselves plains playing second south team
We didn't have that five-minute lapse of making mistakes to give the other team the opportunity to win. With the exception of the second half of the South Plains game (a 71-62 loss on March 2), I thought we've been playing hard. We just had those possessions on offense and defense where we hurt ourselves and we didn't do that (on Monday).
allowed ball beat came easy game good hit job mexico missed several shot shots
New Mexico came out and shot the ball well and hit several 3s. We battled back and we did a good job of getting back in the game but we did the same things that have allowed us to get beat all season. We missed some easy shots and made the same mistakes.
bottom came close composure happy line proud settled
I've been here 13 years, and we haven't come close to that kind of start. I'm really proud of the kids. We could've panicked, but they got their composure back. The bottom line was we settled down and came through. I'm just very happy for the kids.
arizona believe coming continue fast kept level pace playoffs tempo time
Coming back from the break, we kept the tempo at a fast pace while we were in Arizona and that's something we want to do. I believe we're going to continue to get better and by the time we get to the playoffs we'll be at another level where we are right now.
built feet lucky wonders
To me it's one of the wonders of the world. It was built over 100 years ago and is 300-odd feet high. And I'm lucky enough to live right under it.
bring
They (staff) wanted us to bring it out to the front.
beat plays speed
They made the plays at the end. I think their speed beat us as well.
feelings hard knock playoffs
You never like getting knock out of the playoffs by anybody, but there aren't any hard feelings. And they're a new team, at least in the backfield.
due fact hoped injuries month press sure
Defensively we're still not where I hoped we would be, but part of that is due to injuries and part of that is due to the fact that we didn't press because of those injuries. I'm sure we'll be better a month from now.
