I got out of town Sunday when the mayor told us to. We tried to get hotel rooms in Lafayette, Lake Charles and even went to Houston. There was nothing. So we've been here for two nights.

It's time for this board to look hard and long at minority hiring. We don't have any minorities in technology. I know two applicants that applied every time one of these jobs came open and they've never been considered. The way I look at it, the good old boy system is coming back. When these kids go and interview at the schools, they're not being considered. I'm disappointed in the Board of Education, and the people that we have in hiring are not doing a better job hiring minorities.
