I never try to have expectations, I always have hopes. My hopes are always high. I feel very fortunate to coach a wonderful group of kids.

He's tough and he's one of the best leaders I've ever been around. Jumping up there and making those jump shots early, a couple of threes and a couple from the sideline, when we were struggling to score was really important to us.

How are his spirits? Fine. He had blue socks on, and I kidded him about that. He laughed. I asked him which knee they were going to operate on, and it startled him for a second. But he's in great spirits.
