Russell Paul Springeris a former Major League Baseball relief pitcher. Springer made his major league debut on April 17, 1992, with the New York Yankees. He also pitched for the California Angels, Philadelphia Phillies, Arizona Diamondbacks, Atlanta Braves, Houston Astros, St. Louis Cardinals, Oakland Athletics, and Cincinnati Reds. It gets harder to leave the kids every year, but at the same time it beats working for a living. I'm glad to see the guys again. All the bullpen is already here. We'll play a little catch and shake loose some of the weariness.

We wouldn't have it any other way, that's the way it's been all year. If we're going to go to the next round, we've got to scratch for it just like we've scratched all year. And we've got a group of guys here that obviously have shown they've got what it takes to scratch it out when our backs are against the wall.
