We brought it home in sixth place, ... We thought we had a better car than that. I just got behind early and that was about it. We had a lot of challenges today, but I was able to get back from them, and that was good.
The fact is that we had a car that should have won and looked like we were certainly headed that way until we had a right front tire to go down,
The crazy thing is I am probably driving right now better than I ever drove in my life, ... I guess I don't need to be retiring, but hey, I've made the decision to do that. Still the thing I want to do is go out on top of my game, and I think we're doing a good job out there for these fans. I really love these fans and I appreciate the job they're doing, pulling behind me.
When I decided to retire, I decided I couldn't stand it if I went out a loser,
When I look back on all those races, it's really hard to believe that we haven't won at Talladega or Daytona, ... We have one last chance remaining and that's this weekend at Talladega. We're definitely coming in there with all our guns loaded and ready to go.
We've got multimillion dollar sponsors and 150,000 people in the grandstands, ... He just wants all of us to act like men and represent NASCAR in the proper way.
We've got five to go, and I'm still in it.
This is all new to me and we had a problem with the radio. Our gearing wasn't right either, but the most aggravating thing was not being able to communicate with the pits.
It really hasn't hit me hard, yet. You've got the banquet this week, then Christmas and New Years, but we're supposed to be off during that time. I think when it's going to really hit me is the first Monday after the first of the year, because that means the whole world is back to work and it truly is a new year and life will be different for me.
I feel like I'm going on my first roller coaster ride.
Larry reminds me of my old buddy, Buddy Parrott, reminds me of what (Parrott) did for me and how many victories he helped me get, ... We're having fun again.
Kenny went in to use the rest room, and they had the toilet paper roll with the springs on the side, and he kept pulling the paper, and it kept breaking off. He said he pulled and pulled and pulled, and it broke and broke and broke, and the whole time this toilet paper is breaking off I'm in the truck and we're gone. We thought he was there.
I think by the end of the year, he'd have a lot of knowledge. He'd be up on the wheel and ready to go then.
Restrictor plates you've got to rely on all the other drivers around you to make it happen, and that's hard to do. ... But I think the mile and a half tracks are perfect for this Chase.
