I'm in the NFL now, and it's nothing like what we did at USC. Not at all. The only difference between my college and other colleges is the games we won and the attention we got because of it. Obviously being in Los Angeles plays a huge role in the publicity. We don't have a football team in L.A., so we kind of are like the pro team.
I think in the NFL, continuity is something that is helpful, but it's not the end all. In a league where injuries are so prevalent, you're used to guys moving in and out.
Some guys milk injuries and miss a couple games at the beginning. Other guys, they tough it out for the betterment of the team.
If Hollywood was somewhere else, if Hollywood was in Lincoln, Nebraska, then obviously celebrities would be coming around a lot more to the Huskers games.
There was a split second where my heart sank and I thought it might be over.
Occasionally, you'll look up in the fourth quarter and see someone big that you didn't even realize was there. Until then, it's all about business with this team.
It's kind of like last year when we won, it didn't really hit until we went home. It's kind of the same thing.
Sure, we're losing some important guys, but we're going to be good.
UCLA had three weeks to get ready. You can't change your whole base defense, but you can put in some new looks. They were shifting a lot right before the snap. But when you've played together like we have, you develop that communication. We eventually figured it out. And we were already moving the ball anyway.
