last night pain
I think he was in a lot of pain last night and this morning.
certainly move ready tickled
It's certainly something that I've wanted for a long time. I'm tickled to death. We're ready to move forward.
balls effort few hold tried trying
In the effort of trying to hold them down, he tried a little too hard, maybe. He just got a few balls up.
felt happens hope rest six talked time
I talked to Richie at the time it happened, and we felt if it was going to completely heal, it was going to take about six weeks. You just hope nothing happens to him and he can get through the rest of the month.
believe due felt supposed time totally
I always felt in due time I would be rewarded. I totally believe this was the time it was supposed to be.
creeping expect failure good guy guys later nine pay sooner time
I just think it's a failure to get one guy hot. You got nine guys in the lineup. You don't expect nine guys to scuffle. Someone is going to pay for it sooner or later. But that doesn't make me feel good at all. Sooner or later they're going to get their hits. We need them to do it sooner than later. Time is creeping up on us.
command good liked seen stuff
I thought his command wasn't as good as we would've liked to have seen it. But his stuff was good.
game
We could have made the game a little more interesting.
hung
We battled all the way to the end. You've got to give them credit. They hung in there.
finest men talked
When you talked about the Orioles, you talked about Elrod. Elrod Hendricks was one of the finest men I have ever met.
lazy quit trying yell
Yell at them for what? For not getting a hit? When they quit trying and get lazy I'll yell at all of them.
best guy heck knows manager second somebody trust wants
There are two things. One, you know that you've got a guy that knows what the heck he's doing, and the second is that any manager wants somebody he can trust. If you can't trust your best friend, who can you?
against beaten cut fastball few freeze half inner seemed strikes
We've beaten him a few times, but he's pitched pretty well against us a few times. He had that little cut fastball with two strikes on the inner half that seemed to freeze up our right-hand hitters. We couldn't get anything going offensively off him.
happen next ok
We're better than we're playing; we just need to concentrate a little more. It's not OK not to execute. ... As a team, I told them it's not going to happen next year. It's not acceptable.
