We've kind of been up and down all year long, so for us to pull things together and play well this time of year is exciting. It would be huge if we could make this next step as a basketball program. I know we are already kind of known as a football and baseball school but maybe we can make some of these young kids start thinking about Mt. Pleasant basketball too.

I struggle if I have chaos around me, but at the same time, if I don't have it, I'm uncomfortable. It's a strange thing: If I don't have chaos, I create it.
mum relationship rocky time took
My mum has lived in Australia for 22 years now, and we have a rocky relationship. But at the same time it's one I want to maintain. I need her to be my mum. The relationship took a lot of rebuilding.

A lot of children remember seeing cartoons, 'Pinocchio' or 'Bambi' or something that breaks their heart. I remember seeing 'The Blue Angel' and it breaking my heart. It was the first time I realised there was an adult world - that adults could damage each other or destroy each other emotionally.

I believe that life is short, and there is too much time wasted bearing grudges, and I like to move on.

People tell you you're having chemotherapy, but there are different types of chemotherapy, and you don't know which one you're going to get and how it's going to affect you. The people in the hospitals don't always have time to help you understand it.

I can be a bit extreme. I'll spend too much time running round the park, doing yoga and drinking green tea. I can get a bit obsessive. I have to rein it in sometimes.

If you look at art history, at Goya or Gainsborough, it's always about acknowledging the people of your time who have influence.

I said this after the game, that it really does take all of us to win and play well.

We had a lot of young guys playing tonight and hopefully they learned something. We will try and build on that for next year. We had a nice run and beat three quality teams.

We don't light up the score boards very often, so it is important for us to get out early with a lot of energy and really set the tone early. In previous games where we did that, we obviously did much better than we did tonight.

We're right where we want to be. We've just got to keep playing good baseball.

I don't think anyone looked at Mt. Pleasant as an easy game. It's been that way all year for us. We lost a couple of tough games that we need to learn how to close out, but I think we proved that we can play with anyone.
