A well at this site would not be deep enough, only a narrow canyon not suited for water production.

It will take about 12 weeks to repair the compartment. Our target date is June 30, although we hope to beat that.

Due to urbanization, a lot of the wells have been abandoned. In the 1950s, there were 500,000 acre-feet of water reserves, now there are only 300,000 acre-feet. We are looking to return to our historical capacity.

It's not even a cost issue. It just doesn't even look possible because of all the engineering obstacles.
