He'd row to shore every 2-3 hours to rest for a short stretch. That's when his legs would nearly give out on him. But once he got the blood flowing again, he was back on the river, rowing as hard as ever.

He was outstanding. He was consistently ahead of the batters and he mixed his three pitches effectively. It was definitely his best game of the year.
