along anybody caught coaches coaching examples good help instill lessons lifestyle lucky push themselves time value work
I've been lucky to be caught by the right coaches at the right time when I was young who were able to instill in me the value of a professional work ethic. And that was something that I needed. I don't think anybody can push themselves without some help and there were some good lessons along the way. So for me, it was always been a lifestyle because of the coaching and examples that I've had over the years.
again formula home points putting start win
Right now, we've got to find a way to win home or away. We've got to find that formula again and start putting some points on the board.
artist job nice
Pretty cool, huh? The artist did a nice job with it.
bench games night people pitcher season starter starting vice
Especially in the U.S., people liken it to a starting pitcher or a starting quarterback, and hockey's different. You're the starter the night you're playing. The night you're not, you're the backup. I don't think a lot about it. You could be the starter to start the season and then two games into the season you find yourself on the bench and vice versa.
enjoyed happy opportunity places somewhere stage thankful
The way I look at it, I'm thankful for all the opportunities I've had to play in all the places I've played. I've enjoyed every place. And at this stage of the game, I'm happy to still have the opportunity to play somewhere else.
contribute guy net perform role room
There's room for one guy in the net at a time, and you want to be the guy. I want to be the guy, but if I'm not playing, I know I have another kind of role that I have to perform to contribute to the team.
five halfway hard maybe miss school settled year
They've been in the same school for five years now. I need to get settled first and then maybe they'll come halfway through the year at the (Christmas) break. But, I don't know. It's hard. I will miss them and want them here, but I know how hard it will be on them to move.
bad definitely focus lose needed obvious ourselves realize rest spot
There was definitely a focus on what we needed to do for the obvious reasons. I think if we lose this game, we all realize that we put ourselves in a bad spot for the rest of the way.
bad continue control definitely focus heck lose obvious ourselves position puts realize rest spot whereas
There was definitely a focus on what we had to do for the obvious reasons. If we lose that game, we all realize we put ourselves in a heck of a bad spot here for the rest of the way. Whereas a win, it doesn't give us everything we need, but it puts us in a position to at least continue to control our own destiny.
bottom deserved found goal score tough
They probably deserved to score a goal there. They battled and made it really tough on us. But we found a way to win. That's the bottom line.
control score scoring shut
You're not going to shut them down. The only way to keep them from scoring is by having the puck. We have to control the puck, that's our only hope. If they have the puck, they're going to score because they're very good.
bit consider game happy huge lucky playing point settle time
You never want to settle and be happy with losing. But there are times when you come out of a game and consider yourself a little bit lucky you got anything. Being down 2-1 and the way he was playing with as little time as we had, that is a huge point for us.
anytime bottom finding hockey line losing lost maybe stop
The bottom line is we lost another hockey game. We've got to find a way to stop that slide. I think it's frustrating anytime you lose. Right now maybe it's not even as important how we're losing or how we win. It's finding a way to win.
behind biggest due fact felt gain good ground hard imagine knew needed realize reason starting teams win won
This felt good for a lot of reasons, but the biggest reason is because we needed a win bad. It's hard to imagine having to say that in January. We knew there were some teams behind us that were starting to gain some ground due to the fact that we haven't won a lot lately. But we know what has to be done. I don't think we have to look at the standings to realize we're not where we want to be.
