colorado eyes figured good knows might nobody open opportunity team waste york
I don't want to waste an opportunity to play on this team and be good on this team. Nobody knows when they'll get an opportunity to play for the New York Yankees. . . . I figured this is my opportunity to not only be good here but also to open people's eyes and let them know that, hey, I might have been in Colorado struggling, but I feel that I'm a pretty good pitcher.
decision thinking
I don't make the decision so I'm not thinking about it,
fastball help hitters position runners scoring throw
If I can throw my curveball and changeup in fastball counts, it's going to help me so much, especially when I have runners in scoring position because major-league hitters are aggressive, especially when there's runners on base,
colorado last losing
I come in here and lose; I was losing in Colorado. I've been through that. What, am I going to get booed? I was booed in Colorado last year. So I've been through that.
excited nervous tend
You tend to get nervous and excited before and after,
everybody grew watching win yankee year
Everybody around me was a Yankee fan, ... We grew up watching them win year after year.
history honor mark yankees
It's an honor to be part of all this history. You want to put your own mark on the Yankees organization and the history.
pay seemed tried waiting
I tried to go back in there with my two-seamer, and it seemed like he was waiting for it, ... He made me pay for it.
adds eventually gonna powerful pressure score
Absolutely, you don't panic. As powerful as this lineup is, you don't know when it's gonna happen, but you know eventually they're gonna score runs. Not only does that take a lot of pressure off me, it adds to (opposing pitchers).
crazy explain road
It's just unbelievable for me. I still can't really explain it, ... It's kind of a crazy road you take to get where I am.
It's just big not only for myself, but for the team.
conditions constantly pitch pitcher rather
It wasn't that bad. I'd much rather pitch in these conditions than be a hitter. At least as a pitcher you're constantly moving.
man move
It wasn't like, 'Oh, my God, I'm scared,' You take it like a man and move on,
guy happened pitch ready
It just happened where I'm the guy that has to get skipped. I'll be ready to pitch Saturday.
