Just being around him is going to help me ? the little questions about things in town, where things are, just seeing about how he goes about things every day, ... On the ice, it's good for me to see some of these older guys who've been in the league for a lot of years and see how they practice, just get into good habits. Being around those guys, it's going to rub off.
As of right now, go back to junior, the WHA or Europe. I guess those are the three main options, and who knows if other leagues are going to form, or what's going to happen if there is no season again... I haven't really given it a whole lot of thought. That's something that I'm going to decide after the season is over - what's best for me.
If there is an NHL with replacement players, I think for me to be involved and to say that I would play in the league is not true. If the NHL is the real NHL with the best players in the world, for sure I want to play in it, but if it's a league of replacement players, it's not the real NHL. And with all the things going on right now with players and owners, it's not right and I don't think I'd be playing in a league like that.
I just keep trying to push myself. Especially being around guys who have been in the league so long, you want to put yourself at that level. I'm trying to build my game more to be more consistently playing at that level.
I'm not going to play in a replacement league. With replacement players it's not the best league in the world - that's the league that I dream of playing in, the NHL - with real NHL players.
I thought things went pretty well. I think I can play here and help the team. I just want to continue to improve.
I think we just realized that was bad luck. I think we knew we were carrying the play in the first, so we weren't too worried.
I think to be great, you have to prove that you're the best year after year after year and show that by winning. I think that's something you have to earn. You have to prove that. I don't really think about it. I think that's something that's too far ahead for me.
We're close. We have to make sure we keep plugging. It's just a matter of getting that one more goal.
We're a family. When you lose a guy like that it's like losing people in your family. He was always there. He was the first one to take the blame and held himself responsible. As a player, it's not something you like to see. The coach doesn't put on his skates and go out and play. There's only so much he can do. I have a lot of respect for him.
We had a lot of new faces, but guys had the right attitude.
I think just being around him is going to help me,
I thought of passing it for a second.
I'm still trying to develop consistency, ... You have to think faster up here. The reaction time is fast. You have to think quick, or else you're not going to make a lot happen.
