I know I can still drive a race car and I know I'm capable of winning races. That's what was so frustrating about the last few years.

I just looked over to switch the oil cooler fan off and when I looked up everybody was stopped. I hit the brakes and started sliding but I couldn't get it stopped. I guess I'll take the blame for it.

I guess you could say I like coming out of the gate strong. Hopefully, it will be the same with my new ride. I honestly believe we're going to go to the Daytona 500 and win it.

I guess everybody saw it. It's a deal where I'd been racing cars a long time and I knew going around the track the fender was on the tire hard.

That's about the 1,000th and tenth time (I've been asked about my neck). It's OK. I'm been doing a little stuff. I got some stuff from UT, weights to build you back up.

It took Mama a second or two to figure out what he said, ... Once she did, she was pretty mad. But Daddy got her calmed down, we finished dinner and headed to the track.

The car feels real good and we've got good motors. So far, so good.

All-in-all, it wasn't a bad afternoon. Doug (Randolph, crew chief) did a great job in the pits making changes. We just started off really free and could never quite get it where we wanted it.

A guy came to the shop every day. A lot of guys put the foam like stuff that forms to you, kinda like the Indy car guys run. He fitted it up and it felt real good, so we're going to try to run it.

The guys have a lot of good cars built up. We're going to do some more testing before we go back to Las Vegas and try to win at Vegas again. We need to get off to a quick start.

I feel safe when I'm on the racetrack, I really do. I know that I'm surrounded by the best drivers in the world. That's something you can't say when you're driving down the interstate.

After Richmond, we went to Dover and tested that week at Kentucky. I was going to Dover and we had to get the trainer to meet us at the airport. I had to do some therapy on my ribs they hurt so bad.

The hardest part was getting the window net hooked back. I didn't think I was ever going to get it hooked. I finally got it hooked. If I'd known that I wouldn't have tried to hook it.
