Dschinghis Khan is a primarily German-language pop band originally formed in 1979 to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest. Steve Bender and Wolfgang Heichel were the only Germans in the group. Louis Hendrik Potgieter was South African, Henriette Heichel is Dutch, and Leslie Mándoki and Edina Pop were Hungarian.
